Today, for no good reason, I was extremely tired. I think it is partially because I seem to be getting a cold something that happens almost every time I play Ultimate Frisbee.
Although, one of the things I have learned in both psychology and debate is that correlation does not always equal causation.
Haha! If you don't get this then I feel really bad for you!
I have learned a lot in psychology in the past few weeks since school started. For the most part I have been enjoying it. Unfortunately, I recently had to learn about Freud. He was wacked-out.
^Wierdo! =)
He had so many weird ideas and he looked like such a nice person. I guess it just goes to show that you can’t judge a book by its cover. Like this one time when I got a really interesting looking book out of the library and it was super boring…Wow that was unspecific…
Anyway, Freud had some interesting ideas about defense mechanism, which are how, he believed, we reduce or redirect anxiety.
One of Freud’s defense mechanisms was called reaction formation which happens when we unconsciously change our negative feelings into positive ones. So, if you say you like someone you might actually secretly hate him.
Isn’t that horrible? It makes me extremely happy!!! (reaction formation at work)
Really! You have no idea how happy…I mean annoyed…I mean well, you know what I mean right? Okay, this is confusing.
Okay, I think I am blowing this whole thing out of proportion. So I should probably stop now. Or maybe I should have stopped exactly 10 minutes ago?
What do you think?
Smile!!!
